From Producing Artistic Director Courtney O’Connor
Presenting our 2025/26 Season
Many years ago, my mentor (the late Maureen Shea) was chatting with me about a play she was directing, and she said something that tickled me: “It’s a love letter, Courtney, a little valentine.” As I was looking at our titles altogether for the 2025/26 season, I realized that in fact, all of them are love letters.
And don’t we all need a little more love right now? Whether it’s reflecting back on what our community can mean to us and on our changing roles within it, revealing our deepest love (and fears) for ourselves or for those we hold dearest, meeting our favorite legendary literary giants in new and surprising ways, or simply revelling with people who decided to find a whole new way to express their stories, each of these titles keeps love at the center of its storytelling. Together, we’ll travel to Victorian and Elizabethan England (with a nod towards Denmark), to ancient Ithaca and modern Atlanta, and into the heart of our New England community — all connected by love, longing, homecomings, and discoveries of who and what we really are.
And let’s not forget laughter. Along with warming our hearts, each of these shows will tickle our souls with humor, delight, and joy (and maybe some eggs….).
In truth, each opportunity we have to gather together and share a performance is a love letter. And I look forward to penning these with you.
