Join us for Queer Joy Celebration on Sunday, April 13th at the 3pm performance of The Great Reveal, hosted by our friends at QT Library! This is a Pay-As-You-Are event, where all members of the LGBTQIA+ communities are encouraged to gather and share in this communal experience at Lyric Stage.
Come for a pre-show mixer and meet playwright David Valdes before an unforgettable performance of the World Premiere of his play The Great Reveal. Light refreshments will be served from 1:45pm until the start of the 3:00pm performance on Sunday, April 13.
We’ve partnered with the QT Library to offer “Pay-As-You-Are” tickets for the LGBTQIA+ community. When you “Pay-As-You-Are,” we empower you to select the ticket price that best reflects your socio-economic status and take action in community accountability to make arts accessible for all.
The QT Library is a collective of queer and trans artists, educators, librarians, organizers, and community members working to build a brick-and-mortar LGBTQIA+ lending library and substance-free community space for all ages in Boston.
About The Great Reveal:
Newly married and seven months pregnant, Lexi has planned the perfect backyard gender-reveal party with every detail immaculately in place. But not everyone is as enthusiastic about the celebration. Her immature husband, Christopher, is rattled by what the future holds for him as a father. Her brother Linus, a trans man, is caught between his sister and his partner Dosia, who is tasked with making the cake for an event that goes against everything they stand for. When emotions escalate and revelations are shared, a family and the importance of being true to oneself is tested as they grapple to find ways to keep on loving each other.
