About Lyric First Stage

Lyric First Stage

Lyric First Stage is our three-week summer program for young artists between the ages of 14 and 20. Designed for students with some prior experience in musical theatre, the students work with professional mentors who frequently perform in professional productions at the Lyric Stage in an environment that mirrors the challenges and rewards of working for a professional regional theatre.

This summer, our students will immerse themselves in the works of Stephen Sondheim, America's greatest living composer, and the ongoing focus of Lyric Stage Producing Artistic Director Spiro Veloudos's Sondheim Initiative, which has included productions of Assassins, Follies, Sunday in the Park with George, A Little Night Music, Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Sondheim on Sondheim andCompany at the Lyric Stage.

Lyric First Stage Summer 2017 Intensive--Registration begins on February 16, 2017!

You’re invited to take your musical theatre skills to the next level this summer with Lyric First Stage’s Summer 2017 Intensive. During this three-week program, a small group of passionate young artists will work directly with Boston theatre professionals on a select number of scenes and songs.
